Webinar – Irish Retail eCommerce: Overlooked and Undercooked, No More
One of the lasting retail legacies of the Covid-19 crisis is the accelerated expansion of the eCommerce channel. The question is, how will this evolve as we emerge from lockdown and a landscape traumatised by the Covid-19 pandemic? Irish people rushed to shop online during the enforced lockdown, to be faced with virtual queues, unavailability of stock, and next day delivery that turned into someday next week. Nonetheless people bought online in record levels. During this time there has been a raft of remarkable, innovative ‘click’n’collect’, ‘call’n’collect’, home delivery and DTC offerings springing up throughout the country. Recent developments by Amazon, setting up an Irish market distribution centre at Baldonnell, will further accelerate eCommerce channel growth.
Understanding the role that eCommerce can play on removing friction at key pinch points of your customer’s purchase decision journey while also delivering reward, is critical for successful retail businesses. The phoney retail war between online and in-store is over. There is now a symbiotic integration of the physical and digital retail (Phygital).
During the webinar Robert will explore key eCommerce themes for brands to focus on as we learn to live with Covid-19:
· People’s rising expectations of an easy and enjoyable eCommerce experience.
· The rising impact of the online path-to-purchase.
· Social shopping has become just shopping.
· Leveraging retail staff online to sell better.
· Investing ahead in eCommerce – implications for retail landscape post Covid-19.
