Re-Imagining the consumer
The Re-Imagined Consumer or not? What has changed with the post pandemic consumer and what has not?
Kay McCarthy Founder and MD MCCP asks 3 experts from Ireland’s leading brands, An Post, Aer Lingus, and Heineken
The Marketing Breakfast Series was a sequence of early morning events held in central Dublin exploring marketing themes and practices in a wide range of different areas. Due to the challenges of 2020, the series went online. Our collaboration with MCCP this year will bring an overall theme of “Navigating Recovery” to be spread across eight breakfast events with top speakers from the profession.

Panel Discussion
Denise Price
Having worked on some of the most Iconic and well-loved brands and companies both locally and globally, Denise brings a unique perspective and approach to ensuring the consumers behaviour and voice is at the heart of the business decision making process.
Whether its bringing the Carlsberg and Heineken consumer to life in an installation in St James Gate, completing an intense Box-fit class on Coogee Beach with 15 Kayla Itsines devotees and getting them reveal what was in their Gym Bags or understanding how best to enable the An Post target consumer to live a more Sustainable life, the consumer will always be front and centre.
“The power of connecting the dots on multiple data and insight sources to understand the consumer journey, telling their story and its evolution is critical for future proofing brands and their growth, now more than ever”.
Denise has over 25 years experience in Market Research, Insights & Planning, on brands such as Campbell’s Soup, Erin Foods, Carlsberg, Harp, Baileys, Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Special K, Pringles and most recently An Post. She has spoken at MRS conferences and in 2018 attended the Yale School of Executive Management to complete the “Re-imagining Marketing and Insights” programme
Roz Duff
Roz likes to know what makes people tick, what makes them buy, and more recently what makes them fly!
Her 20-year journey in marketing has seen her work hand in hand with insights teams and agencies to create data-led, innovative campaigns that have made meaningful connections with consumers.
Roz has worked for some of Ireland’s best-known brands, including AIB, RTÉ and most recently, Aer Lingus. She’s currently Head of Brand Marketing and Sponsorship at the airline, where she has spearheaded the modernisation of the brand identity and brings #HomeAdvantage with the award-winning sponsorship of Irish Rugby.
As we emerge from the pandemic and reconnect with consumers, date and insights are central to understanding the customer again, their new mind-sets and the role our brand plays in their lives.
Marc Smith
Marc is fascinated by brands and about developing consumer understanding as a key source of competitive advantage.
Marc has been part of the HEINEKEN Ireland team for 5 years and has responsibility for Insight, Media & Innovation, linking marketing & commercial activity to compelling consumer insight.
Previously, Marc led Insight & Intel efforts in Diageo, O2 & Paddy Power Betfair, across various functions such as Customer Marketing, Consumer Planning, Market Intelligence & Advanced Analytics.
Having initially studied Design, Marc studied Marketing at night in DIT, desperate to prove there are transferrable skills between the two!
A father of three, he still thinks he can play football. He can’t.
