Description

Ireland is rated as one of the very best countries in the world at tourism marketing and branding. Mark will outline the innovative marketing approaches that have made us so successful, and will showcase recent campaigns with Star Wars, Game of Thrones and the Global Greening. He will highlight the organisation’s leadership in digital marketing, and the investments that it is making in marketing technology to continue to grow its competitive advantage into the 2020s.

PureCork.ie is the official tourism website for Cork, and Seamus will give an interesting talk on the brand development strategies for the platform. He will also outline the key marketing actions planned to increase visitors to the Cork area by marketing Cork as a destination of unrivalled choice and value.

 Mark Henry Director of Central Marketing at Tourism Ireland

 Mark leads the Central Marketing Division of Tourism Ireland – the public body that markets the island of Ireland overseas. His remit includes strategy development, research, brand, marketing communications & content generation, digital platforms, customer engagement and partnership with our industry partners. The World Economic Forum rates Ireland as the 3rd best in the world in tourism marketing and branding, and Tourism Ireland’s innovative campaigns have helped grow leisure tourism to the island by over 85% since 2010.

 


 Seamus Heaney Pure Cork

Seamus Heaney heads up the newly formed Visit Cork. Visit Cork is the company charged with Business Tourism (Cork Convention Bureau) and Leisure Tourism  (Pure Cork) in Cork. Seamus is a former Hotelier with over 30 year’s experience in the tourism & wider catering industry working in Dublin, Shannon, Galway and Cork. In his days as a Hotelier he was instrumental in the formation of The Cork Convention Bureau back in 2007. In recent times the leisure brand Pure Cork which was created for the tourism industry in Cork is going from strength to strength especially since the launch of www.PureCork.ie last May 2018.
