Our aim is to kick off the year with a bang and start a topical conversation about what the future holds for the world of marketing and communications in 2017.  We are hosting a panel discussion on ‘Future Focus’, with a group of experts from a variety of backgrounds who will debate the innovations, challenges and subsequent behavioural changes we’re likely to see over the next 12-18 months. 

Conor MurphyManaging Director, Vizeum Irelandwill be giving us an insight into what kind of advertising and media landscape we will soon be facing and what kind of challenges it will bring.

Conor Murphy, Vizeum MDConor holds a Masters from Smurfit and a degree in Business. During his time within the media industry he has worked across most product categories with clients such as Vodafone, Bank of Ireland, Lifestyle Sports, Beiersdorf, Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, Kerry Foods, eir, Meteor, BMW MINI. In recognition of his drive, vision and business acumen, Conor was appointed managing director of Vizeum at the age of 30. He established a firm fix on developing agency skill sets in areas of digital; performance and social in particular and harnessed his staffs' ability to look beyond the briefed, to develop deep business understanding. This has enabled Vizeum develop a forte in driving real business value for clients and not just media results. With a keen passion for upcoming technologies and what this will mean for businesses, Conor continues to shape Vizeum for 2020.



Hannah BartonAuthor and Cyber Psychologist at IADT, brings her unique knowledge of online behaviour to the table and will discuss not only what we in the marketing business need to understand about digital consumer habits; but also how these habits are set to evolve in the near future.

Hannah Barton – CyberpsychologistHannah is a lecturer at IADT in Dublin. Her areas of expertise include social and organisational psychology, Psychometrics, group dynamics, podcasting and assistive technology. She also supervises student research projects on a range of subjects, including the application of social psychological topics to online behaviour such as online persuasion and online prosocial behaviour. Hannah has been published in many academic journals and presented her work at conferences all over the world. Most recently, she was an editor of the text book "An Introduction to Cyberpsychology" which was published by Routledge in 2016. Hannah holds a BSc Psychology & Management and an MA in Occupational Psychology, both from University College Cork.



From Google, Eimear Hennessy, will be joining us to share her thoughts on what kind of new technologies we can expect to see - plus how consumer behaviour shapes the technologies that are developed.

Eimear Hennessy is Head of Channel, GlobalEimear is Head of Channel, Global Partnerships at Google. She set up the Channel business 3 years ago and has been building a team and the program since. Eimear has been working with Google for 5 and a half years, firstly on the SMB Advertising side of the business before moving to the Global Partnerships org. Eimear is a Civil Engineer who spent 10 years working in the Engineering and Construction industry as a consultant before joining Google.





Last but not least we have the RTÉ journalist Conor Brophy, on what he thinks will be some of the key drivers of change this year – for Ireland, for our economy, and for business – and how they can be managed from a marketing perspective. 

Conor Brophy, Journalist

Conor is a journalist and broadcaster with RTÉ. He presents business bulletins on RTÉ radio shows such as Morning Ireland and Drivetime and the TV business bulletin on the RTÉ One News. Conor also writes a weekly media and marketing column for the Sunday Business Post and was the presenter of the RTÉ Radio One series The Media Show. Prior to joining RTÉ he was business editor at Newstalk.
