The Indie List launches to boost job prospects for Ireland’s freelancers

A new venture designed to help the freelance community in Ireland, has launched. The Indie List has been developed by Úna Herlihy and Peter McPartlin to help shine a light on the immense community of independent talent within the marketing, media & creative services sectors.  These include areas of commercial creativity, strategy, project management and digital services.

Úna Herlihy is a respected advisor to clients who are looking to hire marketing services agencies or who want to structure a clearer working relationship with their existing agency. Peter McPartlin has had a distinguished career in advertising, working with some of the country’s best-known companies and brands and is a former CEO of Today FM.

The spark for the venture started when Úna began an initiative to put a list together of the available freelance talent who are seeking work and try to match them up with clients and agencies.

“There has always been a large pool of independent freelance talent in Ireland but no proper marketplace for them to get work, network with industry experts and peers and to expand their skillset”, according to Herlihy.

The Indie List, through its website www.indielist.ie, aims to be the primary source of independent, strategic, creative and digital talent in Ireland.

There is no charge for freelance talent to be on The Indie List. The service will be funded by a small levy on clients who engage people who are on the database.

According to McPartlin, “the response to the initiative to date has been incredible both from members of the independent talent community but also from agencies and clients looking to hire people for both short & long-term projects.  The Indie List launches with upwards of 100+ freelancers covering almost every communications specialism and we’re confident that these numbers will grow over the coming weeks.”
