In uncertain times, it is more important than ever to share experience, insights and advice with your peers so we can all learn from one another. With this in mind, we are having conversations with members who are enrolled in the MSc in Digital Marketing and Analytics, to understand the importance of life long learning, and upskilling in times of uncertainty.
For this week’s instalment in the series we’ve chatted to one of this year’s recipients of the scholarship, Felipe Romanski, Social Support Consultant, Adobe.

MII: Hi Felipe, congratulations on being awarded this year’s scholarship. Why did you decide to do this programme?
I have always been passionate about marketing and staying on top of tech trends, so digital marketing is a good fit for me. In the past few years, my career evolved and analytics has become a big part of my role as well. A Masters in Digital Marketing and Analytics makes a lot of sense!
I was also drawn to the practical focus at TU Dublin and the chance to learn from its staff and those at MII. I believe this programme will provide me with all the tools I’d need to navigate the digital marketing industry and become a specialist in digital and data.
How do you hope this programme will impact your current role and career development?
I want to become a T-shaped professional with deep knowledge of social media, data and project management and a great understanding of SEO, content creation and storytelling.
I believe the programme will help me develop my skills and become a professional who will take more strategic decisions in my current role.
Additionally, there are a few modules in the course that I’m very much interested in, like Project Management. I’d like to focus my career development in the project management area focusing on social media, community, and customer experience.
What are you looking to achieve from the programme?
There are a lot of great opportunities in this programme. The chance to meet digital marketing professionals from multiple different backgrounds is incredible. I am excited to exchange knowledge with all my colleagues and lecturers.
Also, I’d like to learn more about Consultancy & Research Methods and Consumer Insights, which seem like great modules to help me in my current role and if I decide to open my own business in the future.
Those are the main things that I’d like to achieve from the programme, but there are definitely many other things that I think the programme will help me with, such as advancing my career, networking and gaining knowledge.
How important is lifelong learning?
Lifelong learning is essential for digital marketers. As we live in an ever-evolving world, we need to evolve with it and keep learning new trends and technologies.
I also think lifelong learning is important to keep our brain sharp and healthy, which will result in a more creative and analytical mind!
A Masters like TU Dublin and MII’s Digital Marketing & Analytics MSc is definitely a great way to keep yourself learning and your brain active!
What is your one piece of advice for marketers starting off on their career journey?
Resilience and consistency are key for every professional. Stay on top of things, work hard and always try to learn new things.
We all have a bright future. You might receive a bunch of noes, but perseverance means that eventually you’ll get there; keep trying and don’t give up!
Success is not about luck! It’s about keeping yourself focused, learning as much as possible and being determined.
