WellFest announces new headline partnership with Gym+Coffee
Ireland’s largest athleisure brand Gym+Coffee has been announced as the headline partner for WellFest2022. The news comes as WellFest also revealed a star-studded line-up for its 2022 event, which includes health and fitness experts such as Joe Wicks MBE, Dr Alex George and Maeve Madden, amongst others.
Now in its seventh year, the outdoor health, fitness and wellness festival will attract up to 10,000 people to the Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin for its event on the 7th and 8th of May.
As part of the new partnership, the main stage at the festival will now be known as the ‘Gym+Coffee Main Stage’, where the biggest stars at the festival will appear to host their workouts.
Over the weekend, Gym+Coffee will also have its own area on site, which will feature talks with Gym+Coffee ambassadors, as well as a shop with a selection of its best-selling athleisure wear.
Gym+Coffee Expansion
Having first attended WellFest as an exhibitor in 2017, the partnership is one of a number of recent moves by Gym+Coffee to further expand its brand presence in Ireland and globally. The company, which counts pop star Niall Horan among its investors, recently doubled its workforce to 174 employees to deal with ongoing demand, as well as opening 11 physical retail stores across Ireland and the UK.
Commenting on the partnership, Diarmuid McSweeney from Gym+Coffee said: “Gym+Coffee has had a presence at WellFest since 2017 – when we first attended the event as an exhibitor with one rail of clothing and just a few products! We are really proud of our growth over the past number of years and are delighted now to be in a position to come on board as headline partner.
“Since we first established Gym+Coffee, we’ve worked hard on building a sense of community through the brand and we know that this is at the core of WellFest, too. There’s always such a positive vibe throughout the weekend – and we can’t wait to be part of that again in May.”
Welcoming the announcement of Gym+Coffee as the new headline partner, Katie Ryan, co-founder of WellFest, said: “We are delighted to welcome Gym+Coffee as our new headline partner for WellFest, and it feels like the perfect match. We’ve worked with the Gym+Coffee team for many years as our official clothing partner, and it’s fantastic that its success and growth over the past few years means that it can come on board as headline partner.
“As brands, we have had similar journeys. Like Gym+Coffee, WellFest originally started out with just four co-founders running the event part-time, alongside our full-time jobs. We’ve managed to grow it from a one-day festival in Herbert Park to a weekend event in the RHK, attracting 10,000 people. We’re excited about the possibilities our new partnership with Gym+Coffee will bring, and we look forward to working with its team to put on our best event yet.”
UK Expansion
As part of the partnership, Gym+Coffee will also feature as headline partner for WellFest UK – the festival’s first event outside of Ireland, which will take place on the 2nd and 3rd of July 2022 in Old Deer Park, Richmond, London. The line-up for the WellFest UK event will be announced on 8th of February 2022 and will include international stars from the health, fitness and wellness industry.
Commenting on the expansion to the UK, Katie added: “We’re delighted to be bringing WellFest to the UK this summer after postponing our debut UK event in 2020 due to the pandemic. This marks an exciting new phase of growth for us and for our community of wellness fans.
“Over the past seven years, WellFest has moved from being a passion project for myself and my co-founders to becoming an internationally recognised brand that attracts the most influential fitness stars. We created the event to be as exhilarating as any music festival and we can’t wait to recreate that WellFest vibe in London.”
