MII Cork – “The Story of Us”

17 June
18:00 - 20:00

“The Story of Us” – Storytelling and Community Engagement in the Arts

We are all storytellers in our own way and Ireland with it’s rich history of storytelling has a natural and historical affinity with the spoken and written word.

MII Cork is proud to bring you iconic cultural institutions and local festivals in Cork, as well as fledgling who must evoke and inspire the local community and get people engaged to keep the heart beating on these important cultural outlets.

“The Story of Us” is a dynamic and interactive panel event featuring Esther McCarthy as panel chair and MC, along with Fiona Clark, from Cork International Film Festival, Michael Carr, Cork Opera House and Niamh Murphy, Festival Manager of Cork on a Fork Food Festival.

We all know that the arts play a crucial role in forming and expressing our cultural identity, but there is so much more to gain when culture meets commercialism and local vibes are shaped through expression.

If you would like to hear about the importance of storytelling in the arts and it’s role in the crafting of our city’s personality, please join us for this unique and fully interactive event, which will take place in Cork Opera House, which celebrates it’s 170th anniversary this year!
