David Field was elected to the chair by fellow board members on 17 September 2019, and appointed interim CEO starting 1st April, 2020, having stepped down as chairman. David is a Marketing Consultant with two decades experience in the marketing profession. He was previously Commercial Director with Easons, and Marketing Director with luxury retailer Brown Thomas before that. Prior to that, as Head of Marketing and Retail Development at Easons, he led a repositioning strategy to transform and modernise the brand. David’s earlier experience was in retail operations and marketing at Fresh, the good food market, as Product Group Manager with Glanbia, and he spent a significant period with Superquinn in a number of positions across project management, category management and business development. David holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Entrepreneurial Studies from Smurfit Business School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University College Dublin.
Learning Solutions Manager
Jenny heads up our Learning & Development team and ensures our training programmes are aligned to our members’ needs. Jenny is a senior marketing professional, with over 15 years’ experience in corporate organisations, including Davy, EY and Smurfit. She holds a first class honours MSc in Digital Marketing & Analytics from Technological University Dublin, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations, a Diploma in Strategic Marketing and a BA degree in History and German from UCD.
Rachel is an event management professional, with an honours MSc in Marketing Management from NUIG, and a B.Comm with a marketing specialism from DCU. She previously worked with the American Ireland Fund in Boston, and with the international events team at Web Summit.
Media And Events Manager
Marie-Therese leads our events team and delivers our major events including the All Ireland Marketing Awards, DMX Dublin and the CMO Summit. She’s also the go-to person for media enquiries and for advertisers and sponsors seeking to engage with our marketing decision-maker community. Marie-Therese holds an honours degree in languages from UCD and a Diploma in Public Relations. She spent a significant part of her career with Coca Cola, and she managed all Coca Cola branding at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
Aoife is an events management professional, with a BSc Degree in Event Management from Technological University Dublin. She plays a central role in staging the Marketing Institute’s events programme for members, including venue and speaker sourcing and liaison.
Monica runs the entry process for the large-scale All Ireland Marketing Awards programme and plays a key role in delivering our Awards gala night as well as our member-only CMO Summit for Ireland’s top senior-level marketing executives. Monica’s career background is in product management and operations in Vodafone.
Aoife has a career background in retail and administration, and her role involves helping connect our members to the right learning solutions. She holds a MSc in Marketing from UCD, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management from Maynooth University.
Membership Systems Executive
Mike is a technology specialist with a passion for using web and cloud-based technology to solve business problems. He is experienced in identifying and addressing issues that have most impact on customer experience. His role involves ensuring that technology is best deployed for the Marketing Institute and its members.
Rose Ellen Kavanagh
Rose Ellen is our longest-standing team member, having recently celebrated 20 years with us. Rose’s experience spans various areas of the Institute, and she is now our membership executive, a role in which she is in constant contact with members, ensuring they get the most from the opportunities of their membership. Rose also looks after our Qualified Marketer Register, and runs the examinations for this in third-level colleges around the country.
Mary’s career background is in accounts and bookkeeping in a variety of settings, and she has a strong sense of quality management. Mary prepares our budgets and financial reports and statements, and maintains our accounting records. She liaises with our auditors and ensures best practice in all of our financial dealings.
Corporate Partnership Coordinator
Cecilia is part of the membership team, and looks after our growing list of corporate partners, who are mostly blue-chip companies with significant professional marketing teams. Cecilia has a career background in retailing, and as a long-serving staff member she has worked across various areas of the Institute, most recently in events where she became well-known to members.
Marketing Communications Executive
Gaëlle looks after the Institute’s marketing communications, including our website, newsletters, blog and social media channels. With a 1.1 BA in Marketing from Dublin Business School and a first class honours MSc in Digital Marketing & Analytics from Technological University Dublin, Gaëlle’s experience is primarily in B2B marketing, spanning the technology, advertising and print sectors. With a passion for writing and all things creative, and particular expertise in digital, Gaëlle brings a professional approach to our marcomms.
Gráinne is a qualified IATI Accounting Technician with a broad-based financial career background mostly in the leisure and pharma sectors. Her role involves her in all of the Institute’s financial activities from preparation of financial statements to compliance.
