Chief Executive Officer

Shane McGonigle

Shane leads the MII Executive team and is responsible for the delivery of our strategy. He will champion our Purpose as we strive to “strengthen the standing of our profession and educate, enable and empower you as marketers at all stages of your career”. He brings a wealth of international experience and marketing expertise to the role, having held senior positions in marketing agencies and client companies for over 30 years. In additional, he has held positions including director of the Advertising Standards Authority of Ireland, Visiting Professor at the University of Ulster, External Examiner at the TU Dublin and is a former President of IAPI.

Director of Learning Solutions

Jenny Bishop

Jenny is Director of Learning Solutions and leads the design, development and delivery of our education programmes and life long learning courses. Programmes are developed to respond to current and future skills gaps across the marketing profession and the general business sector. Jenny is a senior marketing professional, with over 20 years’ experience in corporate organisations, including Davy, EY and Smurfit. She holds a first class honours MSc in Digital Marketing & Analytics from Technological University Dublin, a Diploma in Learning & Development, CIPD, a Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations, a Diploma in Strategic Marketing and a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in History and German from University College Dublin. Jenny recently completed a PgCertificate in Sustainability Leadership.

Learning Solutions Executive

Aoife Moreton

Aoife has a career background in retail and administration, and her role involves helping connect our members to the right learning solutions. She holds a MSc in Marketing from UCD, and a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Management from Maynooth University.

Aoife also looks after our Qualified Marketer Exam, and runs the examinations twice a year online. She looks after all the new and returning MII Grads.

Membership Executive

Rose Ellen Kavanagh

Rose Ellen is our longest-standing team member, having recently celebrated 20 years with us. Rose’s experience spans various areas of the Institute, and she is now our membership executive, a role in which she is in constant contact with members, ensuring they get the most from the opportunities of their membership.

Corporate Partnership Coordinator

Cecilia McLernon

Cecilia is part of the membership team, and looks after our growing list of corporate partners, who are mostly blue-chip companies with significant professional marketing teams. Cecilia has a career background in retailing, and as a long-serving staff member she has worked across various areas of the Institute, most recently in events where she became well-known to members.

Marketing Assistant

Cassie McGonagle Foy

Cassie looks after the Institute’s marketing communications, including our website, newsletters, blog and social media channels. She helped oversee MII’s rebrand, and ensures that the new brand guidelines are adhered to. With a passion for writing and all things creative, and particular expertise in digital, Cassie brings a professional approach to our marcomms. Cassie also assists the learning and development team with some of their programmes and has successfully completed a number of MII // TU Dublin partner programmes.

Financial Administrator

Gráinne Phelan

Gráinne is a qualified IATI Accounting Technician with a broad-based financial career background mostly in the leisure and pharma sectors. Her role involves her in all of the Institute’s financial activities from preparation of financial statements to compliance.

PhD Researcher

Fiona Whelan

Fiona is an experienced and highly educated marketing professional.  She has more than 20 years of practice working in a variety of roles across several industries including telecoms, financial services, technology, property and sport. Fiona holds a BSc in Sociology and Economics from UCD, a higher diploma in business studies also from UCD, the Marketing Institute graduateship program where she came first in her class, a diploma in strategic digital marketing and an MSc. in Digital marketing and analytics, both from TU Dublin. Fiona is currently studying for her PhD with MII nad TU Dublin, where she provides the Institute with research papers and articles.

Do you hold a degree or postgraduate qualification in Marketing or Business?

If so, you may be eligible for the Qualified Marketer Exam. Successful candidates will become full members of The Marketing Institute and will be given complimentary membership for the first year
