Allianz announced as official broadcast sponsor for RTÉ’s coverage of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Summer Games

RTÉ has today announced Allianz as the official broadcast sponsor of both the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In a deal brokered by Starcom, the sponsorship of the Olympic Games will run from the opening ceremony on July 26 until the Games close on August 11, with the Paralympic Games sponsorship to follow from August 28 until September 9.
 
RTÉ will broadcast 300 plus hours of Olympics and Paralympics coverage across RTÉ2, RTÉ Player and RTÉ News Channel this summer, keeping Irish audiences up to date on all the latest news from Paris and the progress of Team Ireland.

At the announcement of the sponsorship Gavin Deans, Commercial Director, RTÉ said; “We are thrilled to have Allianz onboard as our broadcast sponsor. This is also the first time we have had a single sponsor for both Games, and it is a testament to the level of commitment and support that Allianz is making to sport in Ireland. The incredible performance of the Irish athletes at the recent European Championships has given Irish audiences a flavour of what to expect from RTÉ’s Summer of Sport! Together with Allianz, we are looking forward to bringing these huge sporting events to the people of Ireland and cheering on all our athletes.”

In 2021, Allianz officially launched its eight-year worldwide partnership with the Olympic & Paralympic Movements, further strengthening their collaboration with the Paralympic programme which began in 2006 globally and 2010 locally through their partnership with Paralympics Ireland. In 2021, Allianz also became an official partner of the Olympic Federation of Ireland.
 
The partnership sees Allianz connecting the Olympic and Paralympic Games to fans nationwide, whilst supporting all Team Ireland athletes competing. Allianz also partners directly with a number of outstanding athletes including Rhasidat Adeleke, Ellen Keane, Jordan Conroy and Jack Woolley. 
 
The sponsorship will comprise of Allianz idents on live RTÉ TV, Live RTÉ Player and catch up on RTÉ Player. The broadcast sponsor’s idents will transmit at the beginning and end of each transmission and into and out of all internal commercial breaks.
