About Damian Devaney
For more than 30 years I've worked on a single idea: that marketing is not communication or selling; it's the creation of demand today and the building of brand equity for tomorrow. Done properly, it transforms not just brands, but companies and cultures.

I've been fortunate to test that belief across some of the world's best-known businesses (Diageo (Guinness and Baileys), Coca-Cola, O2 and Smurfit Kappa) and across FMCG, telecoms, packaging, financial services and sport. The common thread has been using deep consumer and customer insight to unlock growth: • reframing Baileys around contemporary everyday moments to drive two consecutive years of 25% growth; • helping build the Guinness Christmas advertisement into an enduring national ritual; • turning the Coca-Cola portfolio from decline back to growth; • making O2 Ireland the country's leading postpay brand while reducing churn to the lowest of any O2 market worldwide; • and repositioning Smurfit Kappa as an innovation-led strategic partner across 34 countries and three continents.

I've always believed effectiveness is a system, not a moment: better insight, better briefs, better teams and honest measurement. That conviction is why I helped bring the Effie Awards to Ireland as inaugural Chair of Judges, why I chaired the Marketing Institute of Ireland and why I have had chair roles in Connacht Rugby and the IRFU and the Turas futures conference.

Today, through DSquared and as a Senior Partner at TBV Global, I work directly with CEOs and leadership teams who want to use marketing to transform how their company performs, building world-class teams and go-to-market strategies that deliver measurable, sustainable growth.

If you're a leader thinking about that kind of change, I'd welcome a conversation.
