Following the success of Ireland’s largest student conference, The Commerce Conference, the UCC Commerce Society, one of the country’s largest and most dynamic student societies, continues its landmark year with another exciting collaboration.
In partnership with the Marketing Institute of Ireland, the Society proudly presents The Marketing Shift Moving from Traditional to Social Media Marketing, a thought provoking panel discussion examining the rapid evolution of modern marketing. The event will explore how brands are transitioning from traditional channels to digital and social platforms, and what this transformation means for the future of the marketing profession.
Taking place in the Dora Allman Room in the UCC Student Hub, the evening will begin with networking at 6:30pm, including finger food and refreshments, followed by a panel discussion featuring leading industry voices. The discussion will be chaired by members of the UCC Commerce Society.

Lexi McKeown
Lexi McKeown is a Cork-born Irish fashion and lifestyle content creator known for her style-focused social media presence. As a graduate of UCC, She later moved to London to work in fashion with the brand Naked Wolfe, which helped grow her audience and industry experience. With a combined following of tens of thousands across TikTok and Instagram, she now works full-time as an influencer and user-generated content (UGC) creator, previously based in Bali. Lexi is now the Creative Director of brand Bound Apparel brand Bound Apparel, collaborating on collections, helping shape the brand’s campaigns and product shoots.
Seamus Leahy
Seamus is a Cork-based sales and marketing professional, lecturer, and business consultant with over two decades of industry experience. He is currently an Assistant Lecturer in Marketing at University College Cork, while also working as a freelance Sales and Marketing Specialist and consultant. Over his career, he has held senior leadership roles including Executive Director of Sales and Marketing at The Fota Collection and Co-Founder of Invite Resorts, where he has led major brand launches, international campaigns, and large-scale tourism initiatives. Alongside his industry work, he has lectured in strategic marketing, sales and buyer behaviour for both UCC and the Irish Academy of PR, combining practical experience with academic insight.
Susan Kingston-Brown
Susan is a global media and marketing executive with over two decades of international leadership experience. A Business and Economics graduate of Trinity College Dublin, she has built her career across major global agencies, holding senior roles with Starcom, Latitude, and ValueClick. She is currently Global Brand President at UM Worldwide, having previously served as President of UM EMEA, CEO International, and Chief Product Officer for the region. Throughout her career, Susan has led global client accounts, international teams, and large-scale media and product strategies across Europe, the Middle East, and beyond, earning a reputation for driving growth, innovation, and transformation within leading global agencies.
